Luz and Amity have clear feelings for each other, which represents a lot of things: while Luz seeks acceptance in a place as strange and outlandish as she is, Amity wishes to reclaim her childhood while she still has the chance. These two fantasies are very possible, but when reality hits that Luz must inevitably go home and Amity can’t let down the great expectations placed upon her, it may just be for the best they stay friends.
